THE DAY IT BEGAN

Bertram Law was formed by Neal Bertram in 2014, and who spent the first year working out of a small office at his home.

EVERYBODY HAD TO START SOMEWHERE

Time and money were definitely saved by cutting the morning commute.

20 DEC

COMPANY GROWTH

As the business began to develop, it was clear that larger, more suitable premises were soon going to be needed.

2015

19 MAY

OUR FIRST CORPORATE OFFICE SPACE

This shared office complex in Marsh Barton was ideally situated close to the A30, M5, and a stone’s throw from Exeter city centre.

03 June

TWO NEW STAFF MEMBERS TO HELP WITH ADMIN

With the workload growing by the day, Neal needed some assistance, and two new members of staff were recruited. Duties would vary daily from organising meetings and travel arrangements, to making telephone calls, taking messages, and assisting with reception duties when and where required.

01 April

LARGER PREMISES NEEDED

Acquired offices at 1 Oak Tree Place and operated there exclusively as a Litigation Practice with three staff members.

2018

08 July

NEW SERVICES AVAILABLE

In addition to Specialist Commercial Litigation advice, Bertram Law began to offer Commercial Property and Corporate Commercial to its growing core practice areas.

ANDY FAIRBANKS INVESTS IN THE FIRM

Local entrepreneur Andy Fairbanks becomes an investor and co-owner of the business. Andy’s extensive experience in business growth and challenging the status quo will cement the firm’s commitment in becoming one of the leading commercial Law Firms in the Southwest.

MOVED TO PYNES HILL

With Andys investment and experience in company growth securing a base that would provide everything the firm needs to operate at the highest level for the next 5 years was paramount.

REBRANDED TO BERTRAM FAIRBANKS

Rebranding wasn’t an initiative we took lightly. As the firm was planning substantive changes, a complete rebrand helped reposition the firm in a time of momentous change and innovation within the industry.

MAJOR RECRUITMENT DRIVE

Recruit, Recruit, Recruit!! 

Bertram Fairbanks begins its campaign to strengthen its already impressive team members. Trainee Solicitors, Commercial Litigation Solicitors, and Corporate/Commercial Lawyers have been sought.

THE BELVEDERE LOUNGE IS COMPLETE

THE TEAM CONTINUES TO GROW

Bertram Fairbanks continues the strategic expansion of the Exeter Office with several new faces joining the team.

PARTNER & HEAD OF COMMERCIAL PROPERTY

With twenty years of experience, Julia advises clients on all aspects of commercial property work ranging from sole traders to large corporate entities. This makes her the ideal person to head up the commercial property team.

06 MARCH

NEW HEAD OF LITIGATION

Robert Scott has been appointed the new head of litigation at the firm. Robert has worked alongside Bertram Fairbanks (formally Bertram Law) for a number of years as a consultant but now holds the position of “Head Of Litigation”. 

30 MARCH

WE MADE IT TO THE FINALS

Winning an Exeter Living Award is a powerful accolade, so getting to the finals is a huge achievement for the team.
